（中央社華盛頓18日綜合外電報導）美國總統歐巴馬今天譴責耶路撒冷猶太會堂所遭受的「恐怖攻擊」，並呼籲以色列和巴勒斯坦尋求和平。

歐巴馬在白宮告訴記者：「我們知道兩名攻擊者在猶太會堂早晨祈禱時，愚蠢且殘暴地攻擊無辜的禮拜者。」

「顯然地，我們以最強烈的措詞譴責這些攻擊。」

歐巴馬說，這項攻擊是「以色列和美國的慘劇，我們同情並關懷罹難者家屬，他們目前顯然極度哀傷」。

他表示，美國國務卿凱瑞（John Kerry）已和以色列總理尼坦雅胡（Benjamin Netanyahu）通過電話。

以色列警方表示，遭殺害的四個以色列人都擁有雙重國籍，其中三人有美國籍，另一個人有英國籍。

以色列主要的極端正統猶太教網站說，四人全都是猶太教士。

兩名巴勒斯坦人進入耶路撒冷西區的祈禱會堂，以切肉刀和槍枝發動攻擊，目擊者表示，場面有如屠殺。這是以色列數年來最嚴重的類似攻擊。(中央社)
